Volunteer Opportunities

We have the following volunteer opportunities available. Book Bank at Philadelphia READS – groups of volunteers needed to assist in the preparation of books to be placed on shelves. This process includes labeling, sorting, and categorizing books appropriately. Student, collegiate, and professional groups are all invited. All student groups must be accompanied by adults (ratio of 1:25). Each volunteer session, known as a “Day of Service,” must be at least 2 hours in length due to the volume of work and the associated learning “curve.”

Internship Opportunities

Book Bank Assistant – individual needed to assist with the daily tasks associated with the Book Bank, which include operation, recruitment of volunteers from colleges and universities, recruitment of group and corporate book drives, and assisting with the expansion of existent programming.
Marketing and Media Assistant – graphic arts and design student or graduate is needed to assist with the development of new marketing materials and web based promotional flyers, posters, and other designs. Assistant will also be responsible for managing all social media accounts and producing high quality posts.
