Most people know about Black Friday and Cyber Monday, but many do not know of #GivingTuesday, a day dedicated to local nonprofits. #GivingTuesday is an online day of philanthropy, where people from all over the country give to organizations that they care about. Started in 2012, this campaign has grown exponentially in the past several years, raising over $116 million for local charities last year.

Philadelphia READS is participating in #GivingTuesday this year on Tuesday, November 29th.

We would be honored to make the list of organizations you choose to support. A donation to Philadelphia READS will go towards ensuring that every child in Philadelphia is given the opportunity to succeed academically. Donated books will go to our Book Bank, which provides over 100,000 books per year to local teachers and students, and impacted the lives of over 40,000 children last year alone. Your gift to us will be invested directly into the futures of our children and youth through a range of programs aimed at promoting literacy throughout Philadelphia.

Lastly, with less than five minutes of your time, you can HELP US TO WIN A $5,000 GRANT from the Yelp Foundation by clicking here and voting for Philadelphia READS.

Thank you for your kindness, we would not be able to “raise a city of readers” without your generosity!
