Power Partners provides a creative blend of literacy enrichment, mentoring and career education for 900 school children in 1st to 3rd grade.
This program matches socially-conscious corporations, non-profits, and professional organizations with children from Philadelphia public classrooms for weekly one-on-one literacy coaching sessions. These business volunteers are making a difference: low achieving readers involved in an hour of reading daily advance an average of one and 1/2 years in reading level in one school year.
In the 12 years of this program our Corporate Power Partners have provided Philadelphia classrooms with over $400,000 of books. These volunteers have donated 432,000 hours helping kids learn to read and showing them where education can lead them in life.
Power Partners starts up for its 13th school year.
