Individuals or groups of volunteers are always needed to assist in the preparation of books to be placed on shelves.

This process includes labeling, sorting, and categorizing books appropriately. Student, collegiate, and professional groups are all invited. Each volunteer session must be at least 2 hours due to the volume of work and the associated learning curve.

The Book Bank serves Philadelphia teachers (members) every Tuesday and Wednesday (3:00 pm-6:30 pm) and is open for donations on Mondays (8:00 am-11:00 am) and Thursdays (11:00 am-1:30 pm)

We are currently seeking a Book Bank Coordinator. The Book Bank Coordinator is responsible for supporting the Program Director and the Book Bank Manager in the operation of the Jacoby Book Bank. Some of the Book Bank Coordinator’s responsibilities include: assisting members while they are at the Book Bank, managing donation tracking, helping with communication plans for members and donors, and managing volunteer groups. The Book Bank serves Philadelphia teachers (members) every Tuesday and Wednesday (3:00 pm-6:30 pm) and is open for donations on Mondays (8:00 am-11:00 am) and Thursdays (11:00 am-1:30 pm). Please use the subject line “Book Bank Coordinator” when emailing us.

  • Applicants must be able to commit to one, or both, of the Book Bank’s operating days (Tuesdays and Wednesdays) for the duration of the school year. Being able to assist during the Donation Hours is very helpful.
